Upon the arrival

How you can do it?
  • Print it, photocopy your ID card or passport
  • Go to the Tax Office (AGENZIA DELLE ENTRATE, Corso Mazzini 18 - see MAP) to get the Tax Code 

Come to the Servizio Relazioni Internazionali - Mobilitą Internazionale, via S. Agostino 1 for offficial registration.

Opening hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9.30 to 12.00
Wednesday from 13.45 to 16.15

(Musicology students have to register in Cremona to Dipartimento di Musicologia e Beni Culturali).

  • Copy of the Italian Tax Code you get from the Italian Tax Office (see point n.1)
  • Two passport photos
  • Copy of your passport or ID Card
  • Copy of the Italian Tax Code you get from the Italian Tax Office (see point n.1)
  • Copy of your Learning Agreement
  • An arrival Certificate form (in case your University gives any to you!)
  • A personal accident insurance certificate (if you already have one)
Please note that all foreign students at the University of Pavia are covered by the Third Party Liability Insurance of the University of Pavia which covers damages caused by the students while studying in the University buildings.
You also must have adequate personal accident insurance covering damages caused to you while studying at the University of Pavia, arranged either by you or by your Home University. 
If you do not have such personal accident insurance, you must purchase it at your arrival in Pavia.

All non-EU students need to apply for a Permit of Stay (permesso di soggiorno) within 8 days after their arrival in Italy.

Students should go to the Foreign Student’s office (SPORTELLO STRANIERI UNIPV - Tuesday from 9.30 to 12.00 in Via Sant’Agostino 1 and Wednesday from 14.00 to 16.00 in Via Ferrata) and bring the following documents:

Photocopy of all the pages of your passport (also blank pages)
Photocopy of an insurance policy
Photocopy of the enrolment document at the University of Pavia
Photocopy of your Tax Code
1 “marca da bollo” (revenue stamp) of 16,00 euros
4 passport size photographs (they must be identical and preferably on white background)

The ‘Visa application kit’ will be filled in at the Sportello Stranieri, and after that, the student should take the kit to the post office to send it to the Immigration Authorities. The postal fees and the sending will cost about 140 euros. You will receive a receipt with the indication on the date where you will have to report to local immigration office (QUESTURA) in Pavia for the subsequent steps. The Italian post offices offer a new service on the website called “Portale Immigrazione”, that allows you to check the status of your Permit of Stay application. Students have to meet with the Erasmus Faculty Coordinator to check the learning agreement with the up-to-date academic offer and course timetable.
The Coordinators' office hours are available from the Faculty web page. 

Students must inform the Erasmus Office of any changes that occur in their registration details throughout the year (change of home address, change of phone number or change of e-mail address).

If you want t to use the canteen service, you should go to the EDISU Office at least one week after the registration (Monday – Thursday 9.30 – 12.00 and 14.00 – 15.00, Friday 9.30 – 12.00 to get your STUDENT CANTEEN CARD which is mandatory for all the student canteens.
