NOHA (Network on Humanitarian Action) is an International Association of Universities that aims to enhance professionalism in the Humanitarian sector, by promoting humanitarian values through higher education accredited courses (Erasmus Mundus Master in International Humanitarian Action as well as shorter courses), and by fostering a humanitarian research ethos that encourages innovation in humanitarian policy and practice.
Since it was created in 1993, more than 3,000 graduates have done the Joint Master in International Humanitarian Action. NOHA counts on the cooperation and support of the EU through the DG Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection (ECHO) and the DG for Education and Culture.

NOHA's mission

NOHA's mission is to increase the effectiveness and quality of humanitarian action through the provision of excellence and internationally recognised education, research and training. NOHA promotes intellectual debate and thinking on humanitarianism with a solid base on humanitarian, professional and human values.

NOHA and the University of Pavia

NOHA is currently composed of nine European Universities. NOHA works under a cooperation spirit, linking and cooperating with other humanitarian initiatives and organizations with whom NOHA share values and objectives.

The University of Pavia became part of the NOHA Network in 2014.
In that occasion together with the University of Pavia and CICOPS, the Network on Humanitarian Action (NOHA) organised an awareness-raising seminar to discuss the current trends and challenges of international humanitarian action focusing on the different perspectives, stages and mandates. Specific attention was devoted to the position of Italian actors in the framework of the international on-going debate.
