The programme groups Doctorate Courses pertaining to many disciplinary areas. Although using different research methods and exploring various scientific fields they still focus their cultural and didactic interests on several common themes, which are correlated and somewhat intersect each other, so that they could provide an opportunity for a theoretic intra-prospective and for empirical research of interdisciplinary nature. The first point of attention is of the public institutions, supranational, governmental, regional or local, and the historical and political mind that investigates them. The second point is about the law, viewed in his traditional division in "public" and "private" but without ignoring the continuously tightening relationship between the two. The third problematic point is about the economy, viewed in light of the economical politics and the public finance, as well as the business administration. The last, but certainly not the least relevant, sector of research is centred on contemporary democracies, analyzed with a historical and comparative approach. The primary objective of the programme is therefore to favour the coordination between the courses and, in particular, to encourage moments of mutual formation so that the doctorate students are aware of the complexity and peculiarity of the different scientific competencies required to deal by them further on their professional carriers- as public administers, lawyers, economists, managers of various kinds, etc. - but also of the deep relationship that enwraps the different disciplines which investigate the social, politic, economic and giuridic phenomena throughout the human history and on to the future.
