The Camillo Golgi" doctorate school in Life Sciences” coordinates five doctorate courses characterized by research and multidisciplinary training in the fields of Biological, Medical and Biotechnological Sciences.
The School has four main objectives:

1. Boast the standard PhD formation and create a local critical in order to form researchers able to defy independently the most current challenges of Biomedical and Biotechnological research and to take a main role in the international community.
2. 
   Simplify the integration of doctorate students and staff belonging to the clinical departments and base disciplines, and the interaction with those of other biomedical research centres all over the world.
3. 
   Raise the socio-economic value of the research doctorate student and promote its image, formative role and social impact on a local level as well as on national and international one.
4. 
   Offer a formative curriculum which will endorse the high qualification and international experience of the doctorate students, thus accelerating the integration of the research doctorates in the industry.

For each doctorate student, beside the specialized courses of the single PhDs, is planned a vast and personnel research activity with a personnel supervisor within a predefined research group. Moreover, the School promotes high level interdisciplinary courses, conferences, informative sessions and promotional events aimed at all of the doctorate students in order to simplify the interactions and the knowledge exchange between the different, rapidly growing, sectors of the modern biomedical sciences. Regarding the learning and research activities, periodic valuations are scheduled, in order to motivate the productivity of the doctorate students in terms of quality as well as quantity.
